Seeking a broad view, then seek details

I think of one day when I enter an organization, what will I do then? At the beginning, I am small. I have to look around. What is my position, and what is the road for me? As I grow bigger, and bigger, my view will be broader, surely, and then I will have to get an overview of the entire organization. I think I will get along faster and find the right road from the start if I stop for a moment, to look around-up, down, side-first. Get an overview before going into details.
However, that's for later, we will get to that.
Now, to appy that rule to my current work is possible. Try to get a big view of your living now: CAP, CCA, social, spiritual. How are the connected. Why?! Where am I moving to? Where are the problems? What is their significance? Getting an overview before getting into details help you work more efficiently at every level of your problems. To get a high grade for one module, that is the way to do it too. Read through the textbook once, to get a big view. After that reading lect notes and doing projects will be much more fruitful and productive.
Having a broad view helps you point out the roots of the problems. My problem in social life, social networking now is a big one, which I will have to solve sooner or later. But is it a new one? How has my life been over the last 20 years? How do I imagine it to be next 20 years? If this is a moment to change, what need to be changed?
